Are you too complicated?

I woke up this morning thinking about how often people don’t really know what they want. I mean, they have an idea about what they want, but it’s too fuzzy and they can’t easily explain it in detail. If you can’t explain your idea so another person can comprehend it, then it’s just too complicated. I am not saying to trash the idea, thought or goal… I’m saying you need to have a clear vision of what you want. Here’s what I mean..

Many times we tend to blend ideas together. By blending and combining objectives and task together we over complicate what it is we we want and now the task becomes too overwhelming to even attempt to achieve.

You need to breakdown your objective and your task. Look it over. Is it really one task? or is it two, three or four tasks? More times than not, you will find you have created multiple tasks instead of just one. That’s good. What this means is that we can now simply accomplish several smaller tasks instead. In the end, we still get what we want done, it’s just that we are thinking differently how to do it.

The human brain is amazing… let me give you an example. Which is easier? One task with 4 steps or one task with one step? Obviously, the one task with one step. You see by breaking your task, objective or goal into smaller steps, you tricking your brain into getting more done. If your brain sees a task and feels it is complicated, it will automatically figure out ways NOT to do the objective at hand.
Bottomline is you need to keep things simple. You need to know how YOU think. The more you know about yourself, the more you will get done. So keep it simple and break down you tasks into easy to get done steps. More steps are better if they are easy.

One way in which we can test to see if we have broken our task down properly is this… can you describe your taks in detail in 1 minute or less? If not, then chances are you have made it too complicated.

What do I mean by reverse engineer?
As I said, you already know what you want to accomplish, that’s the easy part. In order to achieve your goals, you need to know how to get there. All the positive thinking in the world means absolutely nothing without proper and immediate implementation.

If your objective is to drive a car… what is the first step?

Many people will say you need to first start the engine. WRONG!
Some people will say you need to open the door. WRONG!

The first step to drive a car is first make the DECISION you want to drive the car and the the next action is to first have a car to drive… either one you own or someone elses. Once you have the car, you must then open the door, then sit down, now take the key put it into the ignition, turn the key, put the car into drive and then press the gas.

Remember.. the key was to drive a car.. not drive it well which takes a bit more explaining.

1. Multi-level marketing is a “get rich quick” scheme. It is not. You will have to invest some time and effort to achieve the highest possible success in this field. MLM will not gain for you some passive income, at least not immediately. You will have to develop your network and fill it up with dedicated individuals from whose efforts you will earn lower tiered commissions.

2. Multi-level marketing is a pyramid scheme. It is not. Multi-level marketing is a creative kind of direct selling. Basically, a person is a customer of the MLM program, though unlike other setups, he is given the opportunity to earn because of his purchase.

3. Multi-level marketing is illegal. It is not. If MLM is illegal, direct selling should likewise be considered as unlawful. Multi-level marketing, after all, is a form of direct selling by its very nature.

4. Multi-level marketing is just as unstable as any pyramid scheme. This is a falsity. Pyramid schemes fail because they don’t have capital to rely on. They depend on the money they could derive from the multi-tiered “investors.” Legitimate MLM companies are based on real products that are actually sold to consumers. There is a real economy involved, hence ensuring the strength of the legs that support this kind of system.

5. Multi-level marketing requires recruiting. It does not. The term “recruiting” is quite misleading. You just have to pre-sell the MLM program’s products to earn some commissions. Consequently, the people you manage to refer will become members of your down line, and if they decide to pursue the earning opportunities presented by the MLM program itself, you could also earn from their activities.

6. Multi-level marketing requires steep financial investments. This is partly true, though the adjective “steep” is quite relative, as well as questionable. You will have to purchase a package prepared by the MLM program. But this is a condition precedent to the earning opportunities that you will gain access to. Consider it as your enrollment fee. The price of these packages vary, nonetheless, it’s a onetime fee which you are sure to recoup after referring three or more sales.

7. Multi-level marketing is just a fad. Multi-level marketing has been practiced by many enterprises since the 60’s. With the advent of the internet, an online variety is but the logical evolution of this strategy. Surely, something that has become a popular sales technique for such a long time cannot be considered as a mere fad.

8. Multi-level marketing programs are scams. Though some fraudulent companies use MLM programs to hide their devious schemes, most MLM programs are legit. The responsibility to determine credible MLM programs from dishonest ones would lie on the shoulders of the enrollee. Due diligence is required before committing to any undertaking, after all.

Multi-level marketing programs offer great opportunities for amazing income which you could savor and enjoy. Hesitations, of course, are always healthy in endeavors like this. But try to investigate on your fears and you’ll discover that online MLM programs are safe investments that hold so much promise.

Liberty or Death?

I don't care how good a job may be, there is no way a person can be truly happy working for somebody else. It's impossible to be truly happy when you cannot be with your family for important events in their lives, but rather have to be on the job at fixed times. You can't be really happy when you have to beg someone for time off to do things that are important for you. You can't be fully content when you have to follow someone else's rules or guidelines, even when they differ from your own values. You can't be completely satisfied with decisions that aren't your own.

Those who say they are happy with their JOBs are saying so out of lack of vision. They have become numb to the possibilities and have given up completely the vision of self-determination. They are slaves... and like complacent slaves, they don't even know there IS another way.

Gerry Spence, in his book, Give Me Liberty, says "By slavery, the old or the new, I mean that state in which the person has no effective control over the course of his or her life. Despite his freedom to jump from job to job or junket by jet from beach to beach, if no matter how he schemes or toils he cannot explore his boundless uniqueness, if he has lost his only power, the power of the self, then he is enslaved."

How To Build Your Home Business Mailing List As Quickly As Possible

You’ve heard many veteran internet marketers and established gurus preach “Gold is in your mailing list” time and time again, and for good reasons. It is well known that most of your sales will come after the 4th to the 8th contact. But before you can accomplish that you’ll need to be able to keep in touch with your prospects for a length of time. The key is you have to capture their contact details first.

This is accomplished through an opt-in list. Basically, an opt-in is a system that will allow you to capture the contact details of your visitors. The way it works is that your visitors would be presented the choice to leave their contact details (usually their email addresses) so that you could follow up on them later on. This is the reason why an opt-in list is also called as a follow-up system.

As I mentioned before, most of your sales won’t come after the first contact. Your prospects should be given time to warm up to your home business offer. You’d have to contact them again, and again, and again, to assure them of your credibility and to make them believe that your offer would be truly beneficial for them.

You may also find they are not interested with your current home business offer, but that doesn't mean they won’t be interested with what you could come up with in the future. An opt-in list would allow you to contact them for any future deals you will bring to the table.

There is no doubt that a follow-up system, or a mailing list, or an opt-in list, whatever you want to call it, would be very important for your success in the online home business arena.

Just Do Something!

At a seminar I heard a great statement... "Just DO Something"

I remember being frustrated when I started and when I first complained to my Father...he made me sit down and asked me a simple question...."Do you want to know the SECRET to success?" I said, "Absolutely!" He then told me to stand up and look under my chair. I did and found a $100 bill taped to it. He said, "The secret is to get off your (you know what) and go make some money!"

So I started to get ACTIVE...and found that even if I wasn't doing the BEST activity, it was better than what I call "PERFECT InAction" (which some of us may be categorized at one point in time or another!) It's amazing - when you STOP idling, and take yourself out of "neutral," something happens! I can tell you many stories WHY activity is important but here are a few to prove a point....

"The MORE activity you have, the LUCKIER you get!"

ACTION: Making Phone Calls

One day I was making local cold calls. At one point I tried to reach a marketing company and called the wrong phone number... a gentleman answered the phone. I was very "edgy" that day and really didn't feel like having any of my time wasted. He was very nice and proceeded to TRY and help me ... I became irritated UNTIL he started to become interested in what I did for a living. SO, I invited him to a local seminar the NEXT day and what do you know, he shows up and SIGNS up! I then helped him recruit a few of his "centers of influence" and
found an ACE. One of his buddies signed up and became one of the TOP recruiters in our state that year.

THE RESULT: Over $20,000 a year!

This gentleman and his team have put over $20,000 in my pocket every year and growing because I made an incorrect phone call! What if I decided to NOT make ANY calls that day? Ouch!

ACTION: Sending Emails

One day I was sending TONS of emails to build up a presence on the internet. I sent specific emails to companies searching for help on the Internet with my business opportunity.

An extremely successful Internet Marketer in Colorado happened to reply and then asked for an info packet. I had SO MANY replies that I FORGOT to send the information until he so kindly reminded me! Once I sent the info...I forgot to follow up! (Don't you hate that?) I thought he would not be interested ... I pre- judged him...

Thank god he didn't forget to follow up with me. Once he called me his objective was clear ... he wanted to sign up and meet my wife and I at a major event in Dallas, TX.

THE RESULT: Downline in 34 States!

We worked together day in and day out to build his business and became great friends! The income from this "Not-So- Perfect" scenario is closing in on $30,000 a year ... growing and growing. I am like many of you on the internet...still learning ... but the key is to always TRY something - and this takes ACTION!

ACTION: "Running Ads"

I have and always will love long-distance recruiting from ads. One day we received an inquiry from someone who was trying to HELP us reach more prospects. They were responding to SELL us and we, by accident, SOLD them! Because we were "open minded," we ended up bringing a major marketing company into our business. (In the past I would have NOT called them back. I wanted prospects, not to be prospected!) Always be networking - no matter what you are doing....

THE RESULT: "Almost $100,000 in 4 months!"

Once again, we worked with this new business partner and they had a few special gifts...a few magical business connections and their first four months they earned close to $100,000! We were happy too! :)) It's amazing what happens when you have an open mind...listening is another key to success! THE most important KEY is just getting ACTIVE in the game.

"You don't have to be the 'sharpest' TOOL in the shed, BUT...you have to be IN the shed!"

UNDERSTAND that these "imperfect activities" led to great results, BUT we had to WORK! The fact that we were doing something is what LED to these GREAT prospects. BUT you then have to put the TIME in. I am certainly NOT encouraging poor activities, but suggesting ACTION and the fact that when you just DO something you have good, bad, and even lucky results!

"LUCK seems to have a peculiar attachment to WORK"

SO get ACTIVE...no matter what, DO NOT sit by and wait...go out and GET...everyday...because you never KNOW who is out there and WHEN they will BE there. Just DO something...you will see good, bad and even lucky results....everyday! The cold call you make today... The emails you send today... The ads you run today.... Could it be that ONE of your activities will change you life? Today? Tomorrow? Next week?

The only way you will ever KNOW is to get ACTIVE!

The Death of FFSI

It is with sad regrets that I've learned FFSI has terminated it's business opportunity and I can no longer recommend it.

It's really tragic because FFSI has helped so many people in the past and provided a valuable service that could help many more people in the future.

Well, sadly, it's just not to be.

Somebody said, "when one window closes, another opens up."

And, that's the case here.

I've joined forces with another of FFSI's top distributors going down a different path. While in FFSI, he had built an organization that had duplicated 90 plus levels deep using a simple duplicatable system. That same system has been revamped and is now available for us to use, albeit with another business. Since I believe it's smart to follow success, I have chosen to follow his lead.
